Firm shareholder Josh Jones, who also serves as the elected Prosecuting Attorney of St. Clair County, Missouri, announced that Raymond S. Hood was sentenced today to serve a life sentence. The defendant was convicted on July 15, 2015, of five counts of statutory rape in the first degree, as well as one count of statutory sodomy in the second degree and one count of statutory rape in the second degree.

The court found that the defendant was a predatory sexual offender and determined that he would not be eligible for conditional release until he had served at least 25 years in prison.

“Raymond Hood committed unspeakable crimes against children. I am pleased that the court sentenced him to life and it is my sincere hope that he is never released back into society,” said Jones. “Nothing can take away the hurt Mr. Hood caused to his victim, but I know that his conviction and this sentence will bring her a measure of closure. Justice was done.”
