Jeff King, senior attorney with Collins & Jones, P.C., has been hired by the Kansas Legislature to serve as its Legislative Counsel for the Gannon v. State school finance litigation.  Mr. King brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Legislative Counsel.  He served as an attorney for the State of Kansas in Montoy v. State, the multi-billion dollar school finance case that immediately preceded Gannon.  Jeff also served ten years in the Kansas Legislature, the last four of which he held the position of Vice-President.  “I am excited for the opportunity to provide legal advice to the Kansas Legislature as they craft a response to the Gannon decision,” said Jeff King.  “The Legislature’s actions could profoundly impact Kansas kids. I appreciate the confidence that they have placed in me to help them navigate the legal duties placed on them by Gannon.”
